Canongate Brand Guidelines
House font
Canongate’s house font is Futura PT (available via Adobe Fonts). Futura is a sans-serif designed by Paul Renner in 1927. With its clean, geometric shapes, it was closely connected to the Bauhaus movement in Germany. It is used across our printed brand materials, including our catalogues, as well as on our website.
It is often paired with a sans serif to supply typographical contrast (e.g. between headers and body text). This site – source.canongate.co.uk – for example, uses Futura PT as a body font and Moret for headings.
